- Overview of Position:
The Sr. Web Application Developer is responsible for developing and implementing software that meets the requirements of an application design and that follows our project's technology architecture standards and guidelines. General responsibilities include:
* Evaluate development alternatives to implement the application design
* Develop, test, and implement software to meet design requirements
* Communicate about work status, technical issues, and development of software.
* Work with technical and non-technical staff to clarify requirements and specifications
* Consider and evaluate alternative methods to achieve technical goals
* Develop, test, and deploy applications
* Write programming specifications and documentation.
* Adhere to established standards, procedures and best practices for coding and implementation;
* Ensure the integration of common site elements such as tracking, ad tags, global includes, plug-ins, etc.;
* Introduce new technologies and functionality for web sites/projects;
* Assess web sites for presentation, functionality and usability;
* Provide support for Search Engine Optimization on all projects;
* Analyze current software and suggest future projects that will implement improvements
* Write clean, cohesive, reusable, well-documented code
* Identify tasks that could benefit from automation and automate them
* Provide technical support as needed. |

- Required Skills:
This position requires technical, business, and interpersonal skills as follows:
* In-depth understanding of the technical architecture supporting custom web applications
* Effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present technical issues in a clear and concise manner
* Ability to analyze problems logically and objectively and apply sound judgment in assessing possible solutions
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
* High level of ability in software coding and testing
* In-depth knowledge of HTTP/S protocols, network communication protocols and performance analysis, access control and security
* Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of:
o UNIX (Linux) including bash, text editor(s), shell scripts.
o Web dev: (x)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, etc.
o Apache Commons API: HttpClient, Lang, collections etc.
o Database: Relational design, MySQL
o Build: Apache, PHP (LAMP)
o Experience with PHP, MySQL, Symfony framework, or other web frameworks is a plus.
o Experience with standart coding MVC
- Required Experience:
* 3+ years experience developing and implementing sophisticated web applications.
* 3+ years PHP development experience
* Experience with search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO) and Google Analytics are a plus. |
